EVENT UPDATE: Doris Lessing at 100: Patrick French in conversation with Chris Bigsby
To mark the centenary of Nobel Prize winning author Doris Lessing, UEA’s School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, in partnership with the British Archive for Contemporary Writing, is hosting a major international conference, an exhibition and other public events.
Unfortunately, Patrick French is no longer able to attend the Doris Lessing centenary celebrations at UEA. The first public event will now commence with Margaret Drabble – Lessing’s friend and colleague – in conversation with Roberta Rubenstein – Professor of Literature at American University in Washington D.C. and a highly respected Lessing scholar - and Lessing’s friend, UEA’s Christopher Bigsby. The event will be followed by an audience Q&A. After the event, ticket holders will have the opportunity to explore the Doris Lessing 100 archive exhibition; a collection of personal letters, drawings and manuscripts – the largest collection of her personal materials in the world.
