There has been a lighthouse in Happisburgh at the present site since 1790, originally one of a pair, the lighthouse has seen many changes to itself and the world around it and holds the titles of the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia and the only independently run light house remaining in the whole of Great Britain.
The Happisburgh Lighthouse stands high above the ocean boasting an astonishing 135ft above sea level which gives a great view of the ocean and the Norfolk countryside.
The lighthouse has been given a traditional coating of white with 3 red bands and makes for a pretty sight when you are looking of into the distance with the lighthouse in sight.
The lighthouse has been saved as a working lighthouse by the local community, it is maintained and operated entirely from voluntary contributions.
