The Kings Head in Coltishall, Norfolk is a 17th century inn situated on the banks of the River Bure and our customers get a great view of the river as they enjoy their meal or their stay in our comfortable B & B.
The stretch of river next to the pub has free moorings for those arriving by boat, which are usable for 24 hours and rely on a first come first served basis and for those visiting by day boat, it is a splendid place to stop and enjoy our lunches or a refreshing drink, either inside the pub or al fresco on our terrace.
The Kings Head is renowned for its fine dining. Our expert chef, Kevin has appeared on TV and won many awards for his excellent cooking and he is the only member of The Masterchefs of Great Britain located in The Norfolk Broads.
Our team produce wonderful dishes using locally sourced products, seafood from Norfolk coast and rarebreed, freerange 'Happy Hogs' pork comes from John Kenny, winner of Britain's Best Dish. Beef reared on the marshes adjacent the inn also graces the menu.

Grilled Calves Liver with Primo Cabbage, Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Rings and Red Wine Sauce

as well as a few modern dishes to include a Hot Chocolate Fondant with an Iced Chiboust Parfait which oozes a delight to all chocolate lovers!

To accompany your meal, a selection of lagers, local real ales and fine wines are available.
As well as a full a la carte menu which is served daily, lunchtimes 12pm - 2pm and 6.30pm - 9pm, there is a set menu for lunch which changes daily, (some weekly regulars have been heard to say that they have never had the same dish twice)
On Sundays, food is served all day, starting at 12 midday with a traditional Sunday roast. starters an desserts from the a la carte menu and a couple of meat and fish dishes also from the a la carte menu. During the afternoon, the light menu is served converting back to the full a la carte from 6.30pm onwards.
The Kings Head also offers visitors B & B accommodation, certainly a great way to finish off an evening of fine dining and excellent wines, is to stay overnight and fully enjoy the relaxed surroundings and excellent views of the river.
We offer four high standard rooms. Two rooms have en-suite facilities including power showers over large 2-person baths.
All rooms have been fitted with acoustic double glazing for noise reduction and have tea and coffee making facilities and flat screen digital TV's.
Included in the price is, if desired, an English breakfast which keep even the hungriest full till supper, fresh juices and freshly ground coffee or tea.
The Kings Head is 5 minutes drive or 1hr 30 minute boat trip from Wroxham and just 20 minutes from the buzzing, historical City of Norwich. It is an ideal central village to stay to explore the hidden places of Norfolk either by foot, bicycle, and boat or by car to visit the many pretty coastal villages.
