The Red Lion is a traditional Norfolk Real Ale and Wine Freehouse Pub situated in the picturesque village of Coltishall on the Norfolk Broads. The pub dates back to the 17th Century and has recently undergone a major refurbishment.
The interior now offers contemporary style décor with many original, period features that have been retained. Customers can choose between several locally brewed real ales or from the selection of fine wines from Adnams whilst enjoying the friendly, warm atmosphere of this village pub.
The space allows a somewhat unique combination of seating areas to accommodate drinkers who like to stay at the bar, friends wishing to share a bottle of wine by the fire and a top bar where things can get lively whilst live sport is shown on the television!
There is the added benefit of a large beer garden and ample car parking. The Red Lion is owned and managed by Harriet and Brian Getley.
Food is available 9am-2.30pm and 6pm-9pm everyday except Mondays, offering a traditional menu with daily specials freshly prepared daily.
During summer ‘Brian the Lion’ will be fired up every Sunday afternoon to cook delicious thin crust, rustic pizzas from 4pm. Ideally our wood fired clay oven (shaped as a lion’s head) will stay hot for a maximum of 4 hours. Look out for our special event days when the pizza oven will be fired up in addition to this weekly Sunday slot.
Bangkok Street Food is served every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6pm.
On Sundays we offer roasts from 12 to 2.30 pm with live music sessions from 4 - 7 pm.
