Station Cottage is the former ticket office and waiting rooms built by the Great Eastern Railway in 1881. It is located in the market town of Acle midway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, on a rural branch line running 15 trains a day in both directions. Naturally by train you can easily get from Station Cottage to either Norwich in 17 minutes, or Yarmouth in 15 minutes.
Acle itself is a bustling market town with all the amenities, including a post office, bank, supermarket, chemist, newsagent, butchers, pub, and several places to eat. Market Day is held every Thursday, when auction sales are also held.
For those who like an active holidy, cycle, walking and birdwatching routes and spots are all around including Damgate Wood, an award winning area of woodland, just a couple of miles away are Halvergate Marshes, where many species of migratory birds can be spotted.
Strumpshaw Fen(RSPB) is also close by, a lovely place for bird-watchers and nature lovers alike and Ranworth Broad has a conservation centre with nature trails etc.
