The Lion Inn

The Lion Inn is a friendly pub which is situated in the northern half of the Norfolk Broads, with a great relaxing atmosphere. Right on the bank of the River Thurne, perfectly located especially for those on a boating holiday, to stop, moor up and enjoy a pint and excellent food at excellent prices!. 

As well as serving food in the main bar and gardens, we also have a separate restaurant area and live entertainment with bands popping in May through September, usually on the first and last Friday of each month and there is always a friendly pub quiz every Wednesday.

We also family room for anybody who would like to use it and a enclosed beer garden.  There is a separate amusement arcade, pool tables, air hockey and access to the playing field which is right next to the pub, with swings - ideal for coping with the energy levels of the children, while you enjoy a drink. Dogs are more than welcome too.

Again for those camping, hiking or on a boat, there are hot showers available and the village shop sells all the essentials.

The Lion Inn has ample moorings with both sides of Thurne Dyke available to some 35 boats and we are a short walk away from the public moorings at Thurne Mouth. If the dyke looks full, please phone us as there’s usually a space not visible from the river. There is no need to book moorings prior to arrival.
