Everything you’d expect from a Norfolk village inn – twisting passages and hidden corners, low ceilings and old beams, pammant floors and log fires, excellent beers, friendly staff and a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
Our 16 bedrooms are stylishly and individually decorated in seaside colours, with top quality beds, crisp white linen, comfortable chairs, a television, radio, tea and coffee making facilities, books and magazines, as well as our own guide to the area. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with fluffy white towels and Molton Brown toiletries.
Children may stay in their parents’ rooms for a small extra charge, as may well behaved dogs!
Two rooms on the ground floor provide wheelchair access.
Free wifi access is available throughout The Rose & Crown.
The menu changes regularly and we also offer daily specials.
As far as possible all our ingredients are sourced locally, making full use of the wonderful produce of the area in season: mussels, oysters and samphire from Brancaster, asparagus and strawberries from local farmers, herbs from the allotments of Snettisham and game from the gentlemen in wellies in the back bar!
Food is served all day at The Rose & Crown, with a slightly shortened menu available during the afternoons.
With our many different eating areas we are happy to welcome larger parties.
Teas, coffees and cakes are also available all day.
On Sundays we offer a terrific traditional roast lunch. This is very popular and booking is essential.
The Rose & Crown’s famous Great British Breakfast is open to non residents.
We welcome children to The Rose & Crown with open arms, and offer a quality children’s menu, with all dishes cooked from fresh. We can also offer smaller portions of most dishes on the main menu.

Built in the 14th century to cater for the builders working on St. Mary’s church up the road, The R&C has been looking after thirsty drinkers for around 700 years!
The Rose & Crown is still a village local drinking pub at heart. We take great pride in our ales, which include Adnams, Woodforde’s Wherry, London Pride plus a regularly changing guest ale.
We have an excellent wine list put together by an independent wine merchant friend of ours, and offer a large number of wines by the glass.
On a sunny day there is no better place to enjoy a jug of Pimm’s with friends than in our lovely walled garden.
