Waveney Stardust is a charity run entirely by volunteers to provide cruises on the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads for elderly and/or disabled people.
Waveney Stardust Broads Motor Cruisers are modern, comfortable, carpeted, centrally heated with wheelchair access and full toilet facilities for the disabled. Our boats are custom-designed to offer people who would not otherwise be able to use a traditional boat, the opportunity to use and see the Norfolk and Suffolk waterways.
Since 1988, The Waveney Stardust has been providing river trips for those needing walking aids, wheelchairs and general support when moving around. There is full disabled access onto and throughout the boat and all passengers are able to enjoy the scenery safely from both inside and outside. Our boats also have medical equipment on board including a defibrillator which the crew are trained to use
Refreshments (tea/coffee or soft drinks and biscuits) are served on every cruise. Passengers are also welcome to bring a picnic. Both of the boats are equipped with plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. There is an oven for heating food if required, and a small fridge. Crews will help to accommodate the storage of items like ice cream and even a bottle of wine.
The cruisers are available for full or half day cruises with a crew of volunteers.
Cruises may be booked by organisations, hospices, nursing/residential homes, and also for family groups where one or more members are disabled or unable to board a self-hire craft.
