Wensum View Cottage

Wensum View Cottage is a luxury 4 star cottage located in the village of Great Ryburgh, only 4 miles from the market town of Fakenham and within easy reach of the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.

This former stable block is part Mill Lodge Farm a 6 acre smallholding. Sleeping up to 10 people in 4 spacious double bedrooms plus a double sofa bed in the lounge. The interior is fitted and decorated to the highest standards. There is a large living room with, TV video, mini hifi, DVD player and a log burner for those cooler evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 10 seater dining table. There is a family bathroom plus an ensuite in one of the 4 light and airy double bedrooms.

The indoor heated swimming pool has full changing and shower facilities and is for exclusive use of the guests of Wensum View Cottage between: 9am-12pm and from 2pm-5pm Mon—Fri. Saturday from arrival until 6.30pm.The pool is closed on Sundays. For those taking short breaks, times may vary.

Outside there is charming sunny courtyard to one side of the cottage and a lawn to the rear with ample room for children to play.

On site fishing - Wensum View Cottage boasts 3 areas for fishing on the farm. The first is a one acre lake with bespoke Crucian and Tench fishing as part of the National Crucian Conservation Project surrounded by wildflower meadows. The second is a traditional farm pond with Roach, Crucian and Tench. The third is a private stretch of the River Wensum with Chub, Roach, Dace, Pike and the odd wild Brown Trout.

Archaeology : While excavating the new lake we uncovered a site of national significance which went public in the national and world news on the 16.11.16 also featuring on BBC 4 Digging for Britain and BBC1 Inside Out East. The Anglo Saxon burial site contained 80 plus Oak Plank and Oak tree trunk coffins with the plank burials having never been seen before in the UK. The first coffin date has come back as around 750 AD. The site also contained evidence of Roman habitation with the earliest metal item dating from 40AD.

Wensum View Cottage is the perfect holiday home with something for all the family to enjoy. Great for just relaxing and ideal for a base to explore all that the beautiful Norfolk countryside and coast has to offer.
