Sandringham
The village of Sandringham is perhaps best known for its sprawling country estate that has played host to four generations of the British Royal family over the last 150 years. Open to the public free of charge every day of the year, the estate comprises a thriving and varied landscape which includes the tidal mudflats of the Wash, woodland and wetland, farmland and orchards, and commercial and residential properties. Visitors are free to explore a number of the ground floor rooms within the main house that are regularly used by the Royal family, as well as the Museum which houses an extraordinary collection of Royal vehicles, rare ceramics, photographs, and memorabilia. A little over 24 hectares of glorious gardens, 142 hectares of designated country park, and the parish church of St Mary Magdalene are also well worth taking in during your visit.
